I came up as a screenwriter before I ever touched a timeline. I'm drawn to the brash, character-driven films of the sixties and seventies, and I bring that same instinct to editing: I want to build bruising, iconic characters out of the people who usually live in the periphery of a story. I'm chasing something that hits like a fever dream, footage that lights up an audience's emotions and imagination, and doesn't flinch from what's actually human, the cruelty and the kindness both.
I'm not interested in likable. I'm interested in true.
